Remember the Balrog archive
Some of the members at Remember the Balrog enjoy creative writing. To accommodate this and to stimulate the forum, I added a story archive that runs on eFiction to the site, then customized it to match the site theme as closely as possible.
The designer who made the site banner wasn't happy with me for shrinking it to fit the forum frame, but I had to reduce it a bit to make it fit the site theme. I made a frame for it to sit in, then carefully matched it to the wrapper.
eFiction was originally developed for fan fiction and creative writing, but can be used for a variety of other purposes besides posting stories for people to comment on. The capacity to add contributing members and have multiple authors per article, to add chapters, and either enable or disable comments makes this a viable option for technical, political, religious or other kinds of writers.
The Tiny MCE user interface permits the posting of images, making it as versatile as a blog or a wiki program for this purpose. It's fairly easy to customize (I use the Elegance theme for customization purposes because there's less PHP involved) and the administration area has instructions and links to the forum if you get stuck.
